LANCES BAY, JAMAICA – MAY 12, 2010 – Karen and Coleman Hookaylo always dreamed of retiring to Jamaica and opening their own vacation resort … and now they are living that dream. The couple has opened Le Mer luxury villas in Lances Bay, Jamaica, which sits between Montego Bay and Negril. These private villas, located just steps from the ocean, offers spacious rooms and beautiful views.“I always knew that I wanted to retire and find a way to share my beautiful homeland with others,” said Karen, who was born and raised in Jamaica. “Then when Coleman and I, who were both attorneys in Hilton Head, South Carolina, retired three years ago – we thought ‘Why not now?”So the Hookaylos purchased the land Le Mer now sits on and went to work turning its run-down buildings and overgrown landscaping into their vision of a tranquil vacation getaway. The site now boasts simply-styled, Caribbean-themed villas with their own kitchens and living areas.“To see this land transformed from where it was to where it is now has been truly exciting,” Karen said. “Now visitors can come together on the unique balcony or relax under the cabana and read in the shade. They can explore sea caves, snorkel in the clear blue water, or relax in our pool.”“Le Mer truly is the realization of a dream and we feel so lucky to be here right now,” Karen said. Each villa at Le Mer comes with the following accommodations – two bedrooms with king beds, two bedrooms with two queen beds, a living room, a dining room and a full kitchen.Rates range from $280 per night to $1750 per week for the entire 4 bedroom villa.“We know our rates are low compared to some of the other villas in Jamaica, but our location is very unique and focuses on “rest and relaxation”. We love the simplicity of it, it is not a fast paced tourist resort, just beautiful serenity by the water” says Karen. For more information about Le Mer luxury villas in Lances Bay, Jamaica, please visit http://lemerluxuryvillas.com.ABOUT LE MER LUXURY VILLASLe Mer consists of two identical luxury villas with the following amenities: wood panel ceilings; ceiling fans; individual air conditioners for each room; television with cable; two rooms with king beds; two rooms with queen beds; all rooms furnished with locally handcrafted beds, dressers and lounge chairs; full bathroom in each room; large living room/salon; dining room; fully equipped kitchen; and private balconies. [image]

Om Healing Meditation Group

OM HEALING

The OM Healing Technique is an ancient form of healing from India that harnesses the power of the OM chant for the purposes of healing on all levels of being (primarily for the benefit of those in the group but there is also an 'absent healing' aspect). This specific technique has recently been made public by Mahavatar Babaji through Swami Vishwananda and the Bhakti Marga Foundation.

Swami Vishwananda says: “Through the grace of Mahavatar Babaji, we have brought back the
ancient OM Healing Technique. In today’s world, dependence is focused and placed upon
using chemicals to heal the physical form.

Chanting OM in the OM Healing circle is simple and can bring the healing ability back to the individual person....which has the power to heal the body, mind and spirit." There are now several groups offering OM Healing in London and the South East (see www.lightinlondon.org for full details).

You know how it is, you have has long car drive, train, bus or aeroplane flight. Knowing that you are going to spend hours sitting in terminals, eating terrible food and of course stuck in a small uncomfortable chair behind a squirming child or adolescent who has nothing to do. At that point even the ironing becomes enticing.

And so it was, I was going on a long and very tedious flight with possible delays. I packed my bags and set aside everything I needed including my passport and of course the newly purchased book on top of the pile. Of course it was bound to happen there were no delays, for once, and as I sat down in the seat and opened my bag I realised that I had left the book behind. It was one of those moments when you metaphorically reach up to the heavens with your arms and say why me? And the answer was there are in front of me, tucked into the pocket, left behind by the previous reader was a slim golden volume called ‘ The Selfish Capitalist, Origins of Affluenza, Oliver James’.

So I tucked myself into my chair and began to read on the long haul. Now I don't particularly like the style of writing as I tend to be more of a ripping yarn type chap. But the quote on the front cover from Will Self, which I have found is not necessarily mean it is a perfect recommendation, was’ Oliver James is our foremost chronicler of what ails us’. What came to mind with reading the book was that it confirmed to me even more in my belief of the Buddhist practice in principle. This book is a catalogue of naked greed and lust of the modern socio-economic system.

If I were ever to recommend a book about Buddhism, or at the least a book that lends light upon the Buddhist ethos that does not mention Buddhism at all it would be this. In the end it turned out to be a ripping yarn.

On a scale of one to 10 I would give it about a 7 1/2. Some of this slightly lower in the score is purely because I don't quite like the style of writing. If I could get home about personal piece of prejudice it would probably be a nine.

I went to see HHTDL when he was over, by a strange route a friend got me an invitation, worth is weight in gold so I was told. Now the Dalai Lama is the nearest thing we have to royalty in the Buddhist world. Amazing time, most of it went over my head, well all of it really. The strange thing it all reminds me of an old boyfriend who took me to see Death Leopard in concert... the relationship did not last! For weeks after my ears were ringing and you could hear it in your head.
The strange and spooky thing is since listening to HHTDL there as been a little laughing bell in my head ringing away. At quiet times I can here it ringing. So I am going to sit under the cherry tree this weekend and just listen.

Passive action

As I write this I must emphasise that I am an individual and not the official spokesman for the London chamber group. This is surely based upon my observations of the world and the problems that are now facing Tibet and China.

Many people are not aware that China's population is about one quarter Tibetan, the Dalai Lama himself was born in China and had to be very discreetly taken across the border into Tibet as a young man be confirmed as the reincarnation of previous Dalai Lama. Increasingly in the West under the influence of the so-called superpowers responds to all situations has been one of policing, which basically means sending our young soldiers in to shoot and in many cases be shot at. The consequence of this so-called police action has been deaths on all sides. I do see a logic in not buying Chinese goods and as expression goes voting with one's wallet I think that actively engaged the Chinese in rhetoric and accusation is probably one of the most negative things that our society can achieve, Chinese culture and view of the world is radically different to our own. We must not forget that the Chinese government does not represent the views of the Chinese people, the government is elected a group of highly politically motivated elite who in turn had been elected by the politically motivated. There is no mass democracy as we understand it in China, the human rights abuses that we are now seeing sadly have been going on for many years. It's just the West's interest in Tibet, who they very sadly let down 50 years ago, has brought this reign of terror and abuse that mass consciousness.
So its check the labels time and do not purchase Chinese goods with the hope that financial pressure that it places on Chinese manufacturing will actually make this group of diehard communists acknowledge the view of the population.

Opting for non violence

I have been looking at the recent Chinese and Tibetan conflict.
I have thought about this and have decided that as a follower of the non violence principle I will no longer buy any goods made in China. I will not, shout, scream or place mental emotional energy into the conflict, rather I will stop buying goods that support the Chinese economy. This will also have an impact on the enviroment as China is in the big three of world polluters.
Anybody have any further thoughts on the idea?

Indian bullfight- bulls win

So here I am in the sun in Goa, sitting in an internet cafe recounting an Indian bullfight... it has a happy ending. Normally if anyone were to mention such a thing to me my reaction would be put the people in the ring and the bulls in the stand, then let the people fight it out! An indian bullfight consists of a great big feild surrounded bu indian males laying bets and generally being very silly. They lead on two of the most docile bulls aon the planet and try and get them to look at each other. This is done by about twenty drunk indians tugging on a rope. The fight then begins. The idea is to get the bulls to headbutt each other. The betting takes place on the follwing 1 how many times will they bang heads 2 which one will stop first 3 which one will get bored and wander off first 4 how many of the rope pullers will he drag away with him 5how big a hole will he make in the wall off people and which direction will he/they wander off in. Often the bulls will not head butt and just drag the guys on the ropes around the field for half an hour, betting is then who will hang on longest. The bulls are not stupid either they drag the rope pullers through every cowpat and thorn bush available. s a general consensus it would appear that it is Bulls 5 and humans 2. Afterward a bull that has been most entertaining will be feed bananas and anything else it fancies. In all I think the bulls come out best in the entire affair. D

Went for a run through the park as the sun was setting. The sky was an azure blue and the ground light yellow and pink. As the the sun set and the sky went black the moon came up and the entire world looked silver, the stars glittered like bright diamonds. From this etherial darkness a heard of fallow deer emerged and I just trotted through them, they did not notice or twitch just kept grazing. It was a sublime moment, stars, moon, silver landscape, deer and frost crunching underfoot.

A small note of caution. Listening to Radio 4 the other day they had an expert on identity theft talking. He was explaining that some identity theft nas originated from places such as face book. Often people give out information unknowingly, when chating to people on the net have fun but be aware that asking for your first pets name, mothers maiden name etc, etc may have an ulterior motive. So, this site has been a long time in coming lets keep it safe for all of us. Drive

attachment and diet

I have been thinking about attachment, illusion and diet. Now these may seem like strange bed fellows but are they? You often here the phrase bandied about 'all is illusion', its usually spouted out by people who know less about buddhist ethical process than an ant. Now I have a a long term stuggle, all beit at a low level, with weight gain. I have tried many things and each time my own cravings and mentally justified greed of the 'go on just for today, a little 4000 calorie snack wont make a differance' has always won out. This week I have asked myself this fundamental question is my desire attachment as the experiance is definitely an illusory one, after all it does fade away to be replaced by more desire. In asking that question (this is before the weight watchers course has started) I have found thatI am able review my eating habits. I was going to say resist, but resist does not actually cover whats going on, its more of a sense of feeling whats true in me. Who knows the 4000 calorie snacks may win out, we shall see. But for now its nice to know that a different sense of self can cope with the illusory craving. In all of this I have discovered that chocolate makes me depressed the day after consumption... now that is bad karma! So I went to weight watchers... wow what an experiance! The first session was last night and the person sitting next to me had to get up and leave half way through as they were going to an offical dinner! I have gone for the 'core diet plan' its just about what I eat anyway, its the snacks that get to me.. I can vacume up a packet of cookies in under five seconds. Ah well, sticks of celery here we come.

Just read Richard Dawkings the God Delusion, made me laugh out loud. It is amazing what we will do and how much of our own authority we will surrender so that we dont have to think. Add to that Bill Brysons The Life and Times of The Thunderbolt Kid, stir in the fact that Tony Blair has become a catholic this years festive season has been a laugh a second. :-}
